It's Summer Time

Well, look what finally showed up - SUMMER! It's only been a week that the most 'awesomest' season arrive, but what a good start!! The weather has been perfect, and since I work for
the City of Toronto, I have had the good, or bad, fortune of being on Strike and I've been able to enjoy every single minute of sunshine that has been offered up!

We've enjoyed every single day outside since summer finally officially arrived, and the girls couldn't be happier! Each night when they come home from school, which as of today will be from Day Camp: "Are we eating outside tonight Mommy?" The answer of course is always yes!! After all - how can you say no to these sweet faces?

I really like having extra time to spend with the girls, Emma's last day of school was last Wednesday so I joined her class for a school barbecue and Thursday we went to lunch together and bought her some really cute shoes!

They are both in a summer camp in the month of July, but if this City Strike continues, I will be pulling them out every couple of days to for some more fun times!

We have lots of things planned this summer - sailing trips over the Toronto Island to watch the Fireworks on Canada Day and July 4th. We may head over Ontario Place if the weather is nice too!! We have a camping trip planned in August at the Pinery. We can't wait!! The girls will also be spending loys quality time with Oma and Opa and Grandma and Grandpas. Very excited about that!!

In the meantime, we have lots to keep them busy outside -

Play-doh is always a hit with the girls - as long as we have two of everything - we are working on their sharing skills diligently, but sometimes it's just better to times two!
And when they bore of Play-doh we have bubbles!! Lots and lots of bubbles! Hours of fun until someone spills the bucket!!
And when they get bored of that and the heat starts to get to them at 11 am, they can jump into the little pool we have for them. Once it's filled that is!! .And when they don't feel like playing with play-doh, or bubbles or splashing each other in the pool - they will just hang around - And this will, and has, go on until late at night, when the girls can run around in the back yard with flash lights, enjoy a fire outside and watch all the stars. It really is going to be an awesome summer!!
